Midtown Global Market's Soup Cook-Off!

In case you haven't heard (wink, wink) Midtown Global Market is hosting their 2nd Annual Soup Cook-Off on Saturday, January 31st from 12-2PM. I'll be giving a cooking demonstration preceding the event at 11, where we will be cooking and sampling three tasty soups!

Proceeds from the Soup Cook-Off will benefit Perspectives' Kid Cafe.

I'll be on Kare 11 @4 tomorrow to chat more about the big event. And I promise next week will be free of self-promotion! :-)

A Latte Tea

I have always been a tea drinker, and was delighted to stumble upon Starbucks' 'London Fog Tea Latte'. Have you tried it yet? It is good. Really. Full leaf Earl Grey tea with steamed milk + vanilla. Perfect for these never-ending below zero days. I tried making one at home today, but lack the vanilla syrup. Adding it to the grocery list now...

Update: After some serious experimentation this fine morn, I have discovered that honey works very well! Vanilla honey would be even better. Oh, and 2% milk works best. :-) BTW, several (all?) Starbucks have some 'Barista Specials' where you can try a tea latte for 2 bucks after 2PM!
